Newberry Tanks & Equipment, a leading steel tank fabricator serving the oil jobber, agriculture, industrial, and equipment contractors nationwide, is growing. We manufacture steel petroleum storage tanks, bulk oil dispensing tanks and distribute accessory equipment. To support our rapidly expanding parts and manufacturing operations in our Memphis, TN location, we are looking for a Maintenance Technician. A successful candidate will efficiently and effectively:
- Install and repair electrical and mechanical equipment and fixtures
- Troubleshoot motor and control systems
- Perform routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems and occasionally run electrical circuits in different locations
- Install low voltage network cabling and connections
- Adhere to all quality and safety codes
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
SKILLS:
- Previous experience as industrial maintenance technician with electrical maintenance experience
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
- Familiarity with 3 phase motors, 240/480V, electrical equipment and hand tools
- Familiarity with industrial lighting
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma/GED required
- Electrical training or certification
- Simple reading and arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of whole numbers and decimals
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations for industrial plant & equipment
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of three years of successful continuous employment in a commercial or industrial setting
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Moderate physical effort; requires standing for entire shift
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. throughout the day
- Good eye and hand coordination
- Visual acuity in order to perform tasks successfully
- Ability to climb, stoop, and bend
- Ability to move from forklift to truck and in yard
